When you come in for your eye exam, we’ll kick things off with a quick chat about your health, health history, family health history, and eye health. The reason why we do this at the beginning is to help orientate the exam to serve you best.

Once we wrap up our conversation, we’ll move on to the next part of the exam: assessing your visual strength. This is the part of the eye exam most people may be familiar with. Using a mix of tried and tested techniques like eye charts and advanced technology like phoropters, we’ll assess your vision and determine if you’ll need a prescription to help you see your best.
The next part of the exam is to check your eye health. Some of the tools and techniques we use include Optos retinal photography, ocular coherence tomography, non-contact tonometry, corneal topography, and many others.
Once we have a comprehensive look at your visual strength and eye health, your optometrist will recommend any prescriptions or medications you may need.
If you need glasses or contact lenses, we’ll happily walk you through the process of finding the right pair for you and your eyes.
If you’re interested in contact lenses, please let us know when you book your appointment. Letting us know will help us orientate the exam to tell if you’re a candidate for contacts. Once your optometrist determines what type of contacts you need, and your prescription, our eye care team will walk you through how to use and care for your contacts properly.
